Dagorlad, the Dead Marshes and Emyn Muil are all desolate regions to the northwest of Mordor. Dagorlad is a plain that lies outside the Black Gate of Mordor. It is where Aragorn and his army makes its last stand just before Sauron's power fails. The Dead Marshes formed on the edge of the Plain of Dagorlad after the battle that ended the Second Age. The Dead Marshes is the graveyard of the many Elves, Men and Orcs, who died in that battle. Emyn Muil is a rocky region that lies between the River Anduin and the Dead Marshes.
