The Lord of the Rings Middle Earth Places: Dunharrow
Dunharrow:
- Appears in The Return of the King
- Entrance to a mountain pass to Gondor now
known as the Paths
of the Dead
After the Beacons
of Gondor are lit calling for Rohan's aid,
King
Théoden calls for the Rohirrim to
gather at Dunharrow. While there, Elrond brings
to Aragorn the
reforged Narsil,
which has been renamed Andúril and word that Arwen. He also tells Aragorn that he must fulfill
his destiny and take the Paths
of the Dead. As the Rohirrim prepare to ride for Gondor, Aragorn, Gimli and Legolas head into the Paths of the Dead.
